Tiger-Cats 16, Blue Bombers 11: Mossis Madu had a 22-yard touchdown run to lead visiting Hamilton to its season-high third straight victory.

Madu, who sat out last week's game with a hip pointer, finished with eight carries for 49 yards and his first career CFL score as the Tiger-Cats (5-8) moved into a first-place tie with the Montreal Alouettes atop the East Division. Zach Collaros went 20-for-36 for 182 yards while Luke Tasker led the receiving corps with seven catches for 70 yards.

Drew Willy was 27-of-41 for 303 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Bombers (6-7), who have dropped four in a row. Willy drove Winnipeg more than 80 yards in just under two minutes late in the game, but threw a pair of incompletions and had a time-count violation to fall just short.

Leading 10-5 at the half, the Tiger-Cats expanded the lead on Justin Medlock's 37-yard field goal that represented the only scoring play of the third quarter. Medlock added a 39-yarder into the wind to make it a two-possession game with 10:25 remaining, but the Blue Bombers responded on Willy's 6-yard strike to Cory Watson with 5:52 left and kept Hamilton at bay on the ensuing drive to earn a final shot at the victory.

Madu provided the lone highlight of what was a largely uneventful opening half. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back took a pitch to the right of Willy and burst untouched up the middle before leaping into the end zone just two plays after the Tiger-Cats blocked a Winnipeg punt and recovered deep in Blue Bombers territory.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Winnipeg WR Aaron Kelly led all players with nine catches for 94 yards. ... The teams combined for just 67 first-half rushing yards - nearly a third coming on the run by Madu. ... Blue Bombers HB Nic Grigsby was helped off the field with 43 seconds left after catching a pass in the flat and taking a hard hit to the leg from a pair of Hamilton defenders.
